Overview
The Paper Testing Waxes are specially developed for evaluating the surface strength and resistance to picking of coated and uncoated paper and paperboard. This test helps determine how well the paper surface withstands stresses during printing and coating operations. The wax pick test is widely recognized in accordance with industry practices such as TAPPI T459, making it a reliable method for assessing printability and coating performance.
The wax set consists of a series of hard resin, non-oily wax sticks with graded levels of adhesion. Each wax stick measures 18 × 18 mm cross-section and is clearly marked with its numerical code for easy identification.
Note: This test is not applicable to loosely felted papers such as blotters or roofing felts, and may not be suitable for certain coated papers containing thermoplastic resin adhesives.
