Overview
The Calendaring Machine is a precision-engineered finishing equipment designed to improve the surface characteristics of handmade paper through controlled calendaring and glazing. This machine forms an integral part of the post-processing line in Handmade Paper Plants, ensuring uniform thickness, enhanced smoothness, and superior surface gloss.
Mechanical Construction
Frame & Base:
Heavy-duty, welded MS structural frame mounted on a rigid base to minimize vibration and ensure long-term stability under continuous operation.
Roller Assembly:
The system incorporates two high-grade alloy steel rollers (top and bottom) with perfectly machined surfaces. The rollers are hardened and ground to achieve a fine surface finish required for precise calendaring.
Roll Face Width:
Available in standardized widths to accommodate various handmade paper sheet sizes. The face width ensures consistent contact area during calendaring.
Adjustable Line Pressure:
A mechanically adjustable pressure mechanism allows the operator to vary the nip pressure according to sheet GSM and finish requirements. This ensures uniform thickness and improved glazing quality.
Drive & Power Mechanism
Motorized Drive System:
Equipped with a robust TEFC induction motor coupled through a reduction gearbox to provide smooth, controlled roller rotation.
Forward & Reverse Operation:
An electrically integrated reversible switch enables bi-directional movement of paper sheets, allowing fine adjustment and multi-pass operations.
Power Requirement:
Operates on 3-Phase Industrial Power Supply, ensuring consistent torque delivery and continuous-duty performance.
Operational Features
Sheet Support System:
Supplied with durable M.S. glazed plates to facilitate proper placement and handling of dried handmade paper sheets.
Precision Calendaring Control:
Operators can regulate roller pressure, speed, and sheet alignment for optimal surface treatment.
Safety Features:
Includes emergency stop switch, roller guards, and insulated control panel for safe operation.
Output Quality:
Ensures improved sheet smoothness, compactness, uniformity, and surface sheen essential for premium-grade handmade papers.
Applications
Glazing and smoothing of handmade paper sheets
Finishing of textured, decorative, craft, and specialty papers
Thickness correction and compaction of post-dried sheets
