Overview
The QGI Rotary Digester is a precision-engineered laboratory pulp cooking unit designed for controlled chemical pulping of wood chips and various fibrous raw materials. It enables accurate regulation of pressure, temperature, and cooking time prior to pulp production, making it ideal for research, pilot trials, and process development in the pulp and paper industry. The rotating cooking vessel operates with reversible turning direction to ensure efficient agitation and uniform heat distribution throughout the cooking cycle. This enhances impregnation and improves pulping consistency. Manufactured from acid-proof stainless steel, the rotary vessel is designed to withstand pressures up to 15 kg/cm² and temperatures up to 200°C, ensuring durability and safety during chemical pulping operations.
An internal perforated basket allows easy separation of cooked material from black liquor after completion of the cooking process. Heating is achieved through electrically operated jacketed heaters for consistent thermal control.
The sealing lid is equipped with a safety valve and pressure gauge, along with a microprocessor-based temperature indicator-cum-controller that allows detailed pre-programming of the boiling sequence for accurate and repeatable results.
Designed in accordance with internationally recognized pulp testing and laboratory practices such as TAPPI standards, this system ensures reliable laboratory-scale pulp production.
