Overview
The QGI Laboratory Valley Beater is a precision-engineered pulp beating machine designed for uniform refining of pulp under standardized laboratory conditions. It is widely used in pulp and paper testing laboratories to prepare beaten pulp samples for evaluating physical strength properties. Manufactured in accordance with internationally recognised standards such as TAPPI T 200, the Valley Beater ensures consistent and repeatable pulp refining performance.
The unit features an acid-proof stainless steel tub with a 23-litre capacity, accommodating approximately 360 grams of oven-dry (O.D.) pulp at a 2–2.5% consistency. A specially designed bed plate, connected to a load-bearing lever arm mechanism, allows precise engagement with the beater roll (rotor) to achieve controlled and uniform fibre treatment.
The beaten pulp produced serves as a standardized specimen for further testing of physical properties such as strength, burst, tensile, and tear resistance.
